New USCIS Policy on Green Card Applications
New USCIS Policy on Green Card Applications
In late May 2026, USCIS issued a new policy memorandum to its officers on factors to evaluate in accepting green card applications filed in the United States. With a preference for consulate processing outside of the U.S., the policy requires officers to evaluate a totality of negative and positive factors before processing an application filed in the U.S.
If you are considering applying for a green card, you need to consider this new policy context. You can learn more reading the attached document. You can also schedule a consultation with us to review how the policy may affect you.
