Employment Services

Economic empowerment through employment services

Our employment services promote economic empowerment and stability, fill job gaps, and build a diverse and inclusive workforce.

We provide individualized career navigation, credential evaluation, connect clients to training and learning opportunities, address systemic barriers such as transportation and interpretation, refer them to potential local employers, and connect professionals with volunteer mentors. We also support young new Americans and their families by guiding them through college and apprenticeship applications, mentorship, and career planning.

How We Can Help

Resume Writing

US resumes are different from resumes in other countries. A resume is important because it is the first, and often only, way that an employer can learn about you. If you do not have a US resume, our team can work with you to write your resume. If you do not speak English, our multilingual team can translate your resume.

Career Exploration

It can be overwhelming to restart career in a new country. We can help you narrow down your options by exploring your strengths, interests, and skill sets. Then, our employment team can work with you to understand the steps you need to take in order to pursue the career of your choice!

Mentorship

We can connect you with trained professionals who are part of the US workforce. A mentor can help you identify your career goals and understand how to achieve those goals. Mentors encourage and empower you in your career journey. Plus, a mentor is a valuable resource to answer your questions and help you better understand the US job market.

Connecting with Employers

At Luminus, we have cultivated relationships with employers to help connect job-seekers to jobs. Our employment team will work with you to understand your goals, skills, and background to match you with the best possible job. Our goal is to help you find a good job; a job with insurance, benefits, and paid time off.

Credential Evaluation

In partnership with WES Gateway Program, Luminus provides free credential evaluation if you were educated in Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Syria, Türkiye, Ukraine, or Venezuela. The credential evaluation report can help you continue their education, become licensed in your field, or take the next step on your career pathway in the U.S. The report may be accepted by higher education institutions, regulatory bodies, and employers.

Transportation and Interpretation

There are a lot of systemic barriers to getting employment, and at Luminus we want to support you overcome those barriers. We want to help you become self-sufficient and we understand that you might need some support getting started. We can provide an interpreter for you and even sponsor your driver's license.
