Luminus Statement on Key Bridge Collapse

Luminus joins our Maryland neighbors in extending its deepest sympathies to all affected by the tragic collapse of the Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland. We await updates from the developing situation and we are hoping for the best outcomes for the missing men, who are described in a Baltimore Banner article as being, “from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico, and live in Dundalk and Highlandtown. They are in their 30s and 40s…with spouses and children. All of them came to the city for a better life, he said—not necessarily themselves, but for the loved ones they left behind in their home countries.”

These men represent the hardworking and humble spirit of the immigrant community, contributing their skills and labor to the betterment of our region. This incident is a stark reminder of the risks they face and the sacrifices they make in pursuit of a better future for not only themselves but for their families.

Luminus is closely monitoring the situation as we stand in solidarity. Our hearts go out to these men and their families.
